About our range of courses

Latin Social Dance

Our salsa, bachata and kizomba classes focus on social dancing. You’ll learn to dance comfortably with different partners, to lead and follow with awareness, and to respond to the music.

The focus isn’t on collecting as many moves as possible. We’re working on building a solid foundation, connection, flow and skills that you can actually use at parties and social events.

Core Nights

Our Latin Social Dance classes are offered as ‘Core Nights’: one evening, one dance style and several levels that build on one another in a logical sequence.

A Core Night consists of three consecutive classes:

  • Beginner / Foundation

  • Intermediate / Core

  • Advanced / Development

You can take one class, combine two classes or take part in the whole evening. Many dancers opt for two classes, so that they have enough time to practise, explore the material in greater depth and make progress.

Each lesson can be attended on its own. The lessons held on the same evening build on one another in terms of content, but you do not need to be familiar with any specific combination from the previous lesson.

Beginner / Foundation

For new dancers, those returning to dance, and dancers who want to strengthen their basics.

You will be working on:

  • timing and rhythm

  • basic technique

  • lead and follow

  • comfort and safety

  • applicability on the social dance floor

We build up slowly and carefully. No excess of figures and no uncontrolled speed.

Intermediate / Core

For dancers who have mastered the basics and regularly attend classes or socials. This is the level where many dancers feel most at home. You’ll work on flow and connection, musicality, variation within familiar structures, quality of movement, and dancing comfortably with different partners. Are you unsure whether to choose intermediate or advanced? Then Intermediate / Core is usually the best choice. After all, a solid foundation is more useful than bravely signing up for a class a level too high and then spending 45 minutes looking bewildered.

Advanced / Development

For experienced dancers looking to take their practice to the next level.

You will be working on:

  • detailed musical interpretation

  • timing, intention and conscious choices

  • relationship dynamics

  • refinement of technique and quality of movement

  • adapt to different situations on the dance floor

For us, ‘advanced’ doesn’t just mean longer or more complicated combinations. It’s actually about greater control, awareness and substance.

Intake dates

New dancers join at the start of a new term. This allows the group to build a solid foundation together and ensures a calm and cohesive atmosphere in the classes. Do you already have proven experience? If so, you may sometimes be able to join part-way through the term, subject to consultation or a brief assessment of your level by the teacher.

Practice time

After the Latin lessons, there is a regular practice session from 9.30 pm to 10.00 pm.

During this practice session, you can:

  • put into practice what you’ve learnt in class

  • free dance

  • practising with different partners

  • ask the teacher present some questions

Practising is an important part of our teaching method. After all, you don’t learn to dance just by being told how to do it, but mainly by actually doing it.

Are you unsure which level is right for you?
