About this activity

Curious about Latin partner dancing, but not sure where to start?

On Saturday, 10 October 2026, Dance Revolution Studio is hosting a complete beginner-friendly afternoon where you can discover Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba.

During this four-hour crash course, Sharon and Denzel will guide you step by step through the basics of all three styles. You do not need any previous dance experience, and you do not need to bring a partner.

The focus is on learning the fundamentals in a relaxed atmosphere, understanding how partner dancing works, and discovering which style suits you best.

What can you expect?

Each workshop is designed specifically for beginners and follows a clear structure.

You will work on:

  • basic rhythm and timing

  • fundamental steps

  • weight transfer and body movement

  • simple partner connection

  • the basics of leading and following

  • one short and accessible combination

  • practising to music with guidance from the teachers

Partner rotation will be encouraged, because dancing with different people helps you understand leading and following more quickly. However, changing partners is never compulsory.

The combinations are kept practical and easy to follow. The goal is not to learn a long choreography, but to give you enough understanding and confidence to actually step onto the dance floor.

Salsa

We start the afternoon with Salsa.

You will learn the basic timing and step, how to connect with a partner and how simple leading and following works. From there, we build a short beginner-friendly combination that you can immediately practise to music.

Bachata

During the Bachata workshop, we focus on the characteristic basic step, weight transfer and partner connection.

You will learn how to move comfortably together and add a simple turn or change of direction. The focus remains on the foundations rather than advanced or sensual techniques.

Kizomba

During the Kizomba workshop, we slow things down and focus more on connection, walking and subtle weight transfer.

You will learn how to communicate movement clearly through the partnership and explore a few simple changes of direction.

Guided Social Practice

At the end of the afternoon, we bring everything together during a guided social practice.

We will play Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba music, giving you the chance to immediately practise what you learned in a real social dance setting.

Sharon and Denzel will dance along, help where needed and give tips if you get stuck.

This means you will not only take part in three workshops, but also experience what it feels like to actually dance the styles socially.
